Four illegal beaners have been charged with attempted murder and robbery in an attack over the weekend in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood that left a woman stabbed when she refused to hand over her cellphone to a group of robbers, police said.

Vanessa Gomez, 18, Erik Solano, 19, Faustino Perez, 21 and a 17-year-old boy are all charged with attempted murder and armed robbery in the attack that took place about 10 p.m. on Saturday in the 6900 block of West Archer Avenue, according to a Chicago police news release.

The attackers tried to take a 36-year-old woman’s cellphone, and when she refused, one of them stabbed her in the abdomen, police said. The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where her condition was stabilized.

Detectives figured out that that attackers might have been involved in an earlier robbery in which the robbers used a vehicle, according to the release. Officers found the vehicle and were able to arrest the four after they stopped the vehicle in the 2700 block of South Kostner Avenue about 11:50 p.m. Saturday, police said.
