PHOENIX - Police officers used tear gas during an operation to apprehend a suspect wanted in connection with a narcotics investigation.
Police said the man, Alawisuces Jackson, was wanted "for quite a while" and barricaded himself in an apartment near 36th Street and Thomas Friday night.
Neighbors were evacuated during the situation. Officers used tear gas and said he was arrested without further incident.
Authorities said Jackson, 43, had made threats against police in the past.
He remained in custody as of Saturday afternoon, according to online records from the Maricopa County Jail.
