An off-duty cop shot a man dead in a Brooklyn road rage incident early Monday as his horrified wife and family watched from their SUV, according to police, witness and family accounts.

A near-miss crash on Atlantic Ave. and Bradford St. in Cypress Hills sparked the bloody confrontation minutes after midnight Sunday, witnesses said.

NYPD officials said the man, identified by family members as Delron (Smalls) Dempsey, 37, got out of his 2016 Kia EX and approached the cop, who was still sitting in his 2002 Nissan Altima, while the two were stopped at a red light. Dempsey repeatedly pummeled the cop in the head through the car’s window, and the officer fired his gun during the assault, killing the welfare strapped father of three at around 12:06 a.m., police said.
