Illinois State Police Supreme Commander Leo Schmitz and Executive Staff Speeds to the scene of the trooper involved shooting

CHICAGO -- Two Illinois State Police officers shot and wounded a teenager in a stolen car.  Police say the driver of the car tried to run the trooper over.
Troopers last night had been in pursuit of the black BMW on the Dan Ryan Expressway.  It had been reported stolen at gunpoint in the city earlier in the day.

Police approached the vehicle when it stopped on the Chinatown feeder ramp.  The car drove off.

It stopped again at Roosevelt and Wabash where four people got out and took off on foot.

Three of them were taken into custody.

The fourth person, a 15-year-old boy, was found later at Stroger Hospital with gunshot wounds.  Police say the injuries were not life-threatening.

All four face charges.

Two weapons were recovered from the scene.
