LaGrange, IL - Drunken White Trash Wacko Elizabeth Donatelli, 20, who is accused of ramming boyfriend with car pleads not guilty - It was just trailer trash foreplay!
A La Grange woman pleaded not guilty to allegedly running down her boyfriend with a car at a Monday hearing during which DuPage County prosecutors sought an increased bond.
Elizabeth Donatelli, 20, entered her plea during an appearance before Judge Robert Miller. Donatelli is facing six felony counts, including aggravated domestic battery and driving under the influence, after she allegedly left a Lombard roadway and struck her boyfriend on July 23.
The boyfriend, a 22-year-old Villa Park resident, suffered serious injuries and is still recovering, but is no longer hospitalized, prosecutors said. Donatelli is out on $20,000 cash bond and is required to submit to random drug testing as a condition of bond.
Assistant State's Attorney Bethany Jackson asked the judge to increase Donatelli's bond because a drug test Donatelli took Aug. 9 at the DuPage County probation department showed positive for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.
But the judge agreed with defense attorney Terry Ekl, who argued that THC can remain in someone's system for weeks, and Miller denied the increased bond request.
Police say Donatelli drove over a curb in the early morning hours of July 23 on Ash Street near Main in Lombard, striking her boyfriend. Donatelli allegedly told police that she did not leave the roadway. The couple had been arguing over fidelity issues, authorities say.
Indictments say the boyfriend suffered a "hematoma, lacerations and a broken leg," though an order of protection taken out earlier this month by the mother of the boyfriend describes more serious injuries.
In the protective order, the mother said her son's injuries included a skull fracture, severed neck artery and broken ribs in addition to the broken leg. The man was placed in a medically induced coma and had several surgeries, according to the petition.
In addition to the domestic battery and DUI charges, Donatelli also is charged with aggravated reckless driving and aggravated battery in a public place. Donatelli's next court appearance is set for Sept. 30.
