19-year-old Colored Man, Kajuan Raye, fatally shot by Chicago police in West Englewood - Let the Thanksgiving Hollering Begin!

CHICAGO -- A man was fatally shot by Chicago police officers during a foot chase in the West Englewood neighborhood.
A cousin identifies the man killed as 19-year-old Kajuan Raye of Dolton, Illinois.
A relative tells WGN News they were standing at a bus stop when a police squad car pulled up -- Raye ran off and then there was gun fire.
The shots fired happened in an alley along the 6500 block of South Marshfield.
According to police, they were responding to a call of a battery in progress around 11 p.m. Tuesday. When a police sergeant arrived and announced his office, a man matching the description of the offender ran off.
The sergeant says the man pointed a weapon in his direction twice during the chase before he opened fire.
The offender was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Hospital where he later died.
Detectives did a grid search of the scene for several hours overnight. It is unknown if a weapon was recovered.
A cousin of Raye says he was unarmed.
The Independent Police Review Authority (IPRA) has taken over the investigation since this involved a deadly police shooting.
