This Negro Gets Around! Minnesota Colored Boy Anthony Mrdjenovich, 20, involved in Texas robbery arrested in Michigan

An Ashland, MN man who was on probation for his part in an armed robbery in Texas is in jail after a traffic stop in Michigan.

The Michigan State Police said Anthony Mrdjenovich, 20, was stopped on the afternoon of Sept. 25 after being clocked driving 73 mph in a 55 mph zone on state Highway M-28 in Wakefield, Mich.

Upon investigation, police learned that a felony warrant was out on Mrdjenovich on a charge of aggravated robbery in Anderson County, Texas, in which a clerk was shot.

The Palestine (Texas) Herald-Press reported that Mrdjenovich, then 17, had been involved in an early morning robbery on Aug. 19, 2012, of a convenience store in Palestine in which a 62-year-old clerk was shot in the face. According to local media, the victim recovered but later died of unrelated causes.

The gunman in the robbery was found guilty of aggravated robbery and sentenced to 25 years in prison, the Herald-Press reported.

Mrdjenovich and another 17-year-old also were found guilty for their involvement. An Anderson County Court official said Mrdjenovich was placed on probation for 10 years and required to serve 180 days in the county jail. That case has been reopened for purposes of revoking probation, the official said.

Michigan State Police said they also learned that the vehicle Mrdjenovich was driving had been stolen from the Dulles Airport Police Department in Dulles, Va. Police said Mrdjenovich also had a suspended driver's license in Michigan, and expired operator's license in Wisconsin and a misdemeanor warrant in Coldwater, Mich., for failure to appear in court.

Gogebic County authorities said Mrdjenovich remains in custody in Gogebic County Jail and faces a preliminary court appearance at 9 a.m. Monday.
