The Blaxican, which was born as a food truck and later launched a "takeout" brick & mortar space, has closed. Blaxican was located in The Studio Movie Grill-anchored Holcomb Center on Holcomb Bridge Road near Roswell/Alpharetta. Judging from social media postings, it would seem the takeout space closed between early January and early February.
"Unfortunately we had to close the Take-Out temporarily due to low sales as a result of limited seating, no liquor license, poor sign visability, and no marketing budget. These factors also made it very dificult to atract and keep qualified staff. Here is our plan, the space next door is perfect for additional seating, and faces the main entrance which has no obstructions for our sign. We are in the process of soliciting investors to help us aquire this space so we can reopen bigger and better than before. Until then we will continue to operate our Food Truck throughout Atlanta and the surrounding cities."
There has been no public update on when or if the takeout location will reopen but the food truck remains in operation.

Tony's Barber Studio, a longtanding midtown business, has relocated. After running a successful and popular business in Colony Square for over six years, the property's new owners (North American Properties) refused to offer owner Tony Roberts a lease renewal and reportedly told him to leave. Ironically, Roberts was able to secure a new location in Atlantic Station, the midtown center sold late last year by North American Properties to developer Hines. For now, Tony's is occupying a temporary space near Publix, but will eventually occupy an upper level space on 19th Street above Great American Cookie Co. The new space will be larger than the Colony Square outpost and should open in six-to-eight weeks.
The Residence Buckhead Atlanta has been put up for sale. The sales listing makes no mention of the current occupancy of the two tower residential complex.
