Police are investigating whether a man shot Thursday afternoon was posting video to Facebook as his attacker walked up, opened fire, and continued to shoot after he fell.
The video was passed around Twitter and Facebook after it was found. The shooting, near the intersection of 56th Street and Hoyne Avenue in the West Englewood neighborhood about 4:50 p.m., left a man in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Chicago police are aware of the video and are "working to validate the authenticity of the video," said Officer Veejay Zala, a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department.
Police said that the man was shot in the face and groin.
