A federal inmate connected to two sexual assaults last summer has been brought back to Lancaster County.

Jaime Villasenor, 33, was booked into jail Friday on suspicion of two counts of first-degree sexual assault after completing a four-year federal prison sentence for re-entering the U.S. illegally.

An arrest warrant says he is accused of raping a woman who was walking home from downtown Lincoln in November 2006. He's also accused of raping a cab driver in January 2007, the warrant says.

In both cases, the women said their attacker held a knife to their throats and threatened to cut them if they weren't quiet or if they didn't cooperate.

In June 2015, Villasenor's DNA was matched to DNA taken at the time of the alleged rapes.

He was deported in September 2006 after a conviction for second-degree burglary and assault with a deadly weapon two years earlier in Los Angeles County, California, according to federal court documents.
