Tinley Park, IL -- A Tinley Park dad is accused of viciously beating his 8-week-old son when the baby would not stop crying, prosecutors said in court Thursday.
Juan Contreras, 25, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a charge of aggravated battery to a child.
According to the charges, the baby boy, born Jan. 25, 2016, was left in Contreras’s care in the family home in the 16400 block of Clark Lane, Tinley Park, while the baby’s mother attended school on March 23.
Just a few days before the infant was taken for a checkup with the family’s pediatrician, who noted that the child was in good health and showed no signs of injury, the prosecutor said.
